I’ve donned the black and gold look on several occasions. During fashion week last season and to showcase my dangerously expanding collection of feline-themed adornments. It’s a popular look with yours truly so I thought I’d give it a winter twist.
I love this gorgeous coat from Ghanian-born designer Mimi Plange (it’s opulent, fabulously tailored and comes with Mimi’s trademark attention for super stylish and understated details). I took a stylistic liberty though. I’m actually sporting it backwards! I played with various cool ways to rock it and thought it looked fabulous that way!
The gold accessories showcase two French brands I love, Freelance for the shoes (aren’t these gold metallic go-go booties rad?) and Gérard Darel for the metallic leather clutch. The over-the-top chained belt is by Donna Karan. You need a bigger-than-life coat to not get upstaged by this bigger-than-life belt 😉 But I think these two were made for each other.

I luv the monogramed belt!
Love this look, great choice! and perfectly matched with the booties. Top fashion!
Such fancy accessories! you always have a good fashion taste
At first glance, I would think that the coat was really tailored that way, not backwards! You can wear a sack Ndoema and you would still look like a super model. Kudos!
I admire your attention to detail and how you mix and match everything! And the coat! Wonderful idea!
Loving the gold accents! nice!
The coat looks oh so luxurious! Nicely done Mimi Plange!
Honestly, my dear, you can wear a sack and you will still look fab. Seriously!
OMG backwards? Who would have thought? Haha! Ndoema, where do you get your creativity?!
Damn! Gotta have those Freelance boots!
