The Royal Temple of Wat Suan Dok

There is so much beauty in Thailand. It’s totally mind-blowing. In fact, to me, all of Southeast Asia is breathtaking.

Though it’s an extremely diverse world boasting an array of unique cultures, people and landscapes, each of the amazing lands I’ve been so fortunate to explore (from Bali and Java to Myanmar and of course Thailand) share this powerful spirituality that leaves me speechless. Every sacred site visit leaves me astonished, awed, empowered and inspired to infuse every aspect of my life with that beauty and sacredness.

Wat Suan Dok is a personal favorite. This spectacular golden sacred site is as far as you can get from peaceful Koh Yao Noi. It’s located in the Northern Thailand city of Chiang Mai, one of the country’s most culturally and religiously significant cities. This former royal capital is home to literally hundreds of powerful temples. It’s the ultimate sacred traveler’s dream!

Wat Suan Dok is the first temple I stepped foot into during my stay in Chiang Mai (literally the day after landing in town from Bangkok) and the last temple I stepped foot into before leaving Chiang Mai (literally the day before flying off). I felt an instant personal connection to this wonderful place and so wished that I never had to leave it behind.
