“I Am Happy” is the name of my favorite raw vegan specialty at Cafe Gratitude (it’s only available at their Los Angeles locations). It’s a Mediterranean wrap with live falafels, zucchini cilantro hummus, spinach, red onion, tomato, cucumber, red chili pepper sauce and garlic tahini dressing on live sun-dried tomato bread. Yum! Hope this will debunk the myth that being a raw vegan condemns you to a life of deprivation and austerity. Couldn’t be less true.
I discovered this lovely eatery in San Francisco at their location on Harrison street in the Mission district. And I fell in love with their food and philosophy. I was so happy when they opened their first LA location on Larchmont Boulevard and I couldn’t wait to experience their new Venice home. Love the feel. It was a particularly festive visit as they were celebrating a birthday (you can see some hand clapping in one of the photos).
The question of the day was: ” Who is your mentor?”
