Digital Detox

I will be taking a leave of absence (busy packing my bags as I type…). It’s my first official break since the launch of TheGlobalGirl.com over a year ago. Launching The Global Girl has been a thrilling (and hectic) adventure and I’ve loved every minute of it, but boy am I looking forward to getting away from it all!

It may come as a surprise to most of you but I’m a kind of a hermit (don’t say I didn’t warn you… there’s muuuch more to me than meets the eye). I’ve spent a great deal of my life in solitude and there are very few things I treasure more. So my idea of the ultimate Holiday gift is to fly away to a remote abode, surrounded by nature, and to meditate ten hours a day in complete silence for ten days (or more :). Most folks freak out at the idea of “no talking” for ten days! Let alone no computers, phones, books, music, writing… To me it’s the ultimate mind detox.

As you know detox plays a big part in my life, and for me this transformative practice goes far beyond the realm of nutrition. Conscious eating is only part of what I call conscious living.
