I spotted this fabulous cape and pants ensemble at the Son Jung Wan Fall 2013 show (eighth picture from the top) during New York Fashion Week. This was one of several gorge monochromatic looks that ended up on my radar. I rocked one of them, a fabulous burgundy feathered fishtail top with matching ruffle shorts (featured here and here), on day 1 of New York Fashion Week last season, that landed a feature on WWD, New York Magazine’s The Cut and Glamour Paris among others.
So this season, I picked two more! This fab beige look and a stunning pink skirt suit (coming soon!).
This ensemble is a double winner from a styling standpoint. It combines two of my favorite fashion elements: a clean monochromatic color palette and the “leg for days” flare pants effect 😉 In many ways, I feel that it is iconic of Son Jung Wan’s design aesthetic: confidently minimalist yet opulent, a clean and graphic silhouette and a dash of daring classicism in the cut. So I felt it was only appropriate to sport it to her Fall 2014 show this season.
This fab ensemble also caught the eye of photographer Dvora for British Vogue, Stefano Coletti for Vogue Italia, Moez Achour for Style.com/Arabia, Hannan Saleh for Essence Magazine and Brandon Isralsky for The Fashion Bomb Daily.

I dunno what you can possibly fit in a bag like that, but it sure looks divine!

The best backdrop is always the streets, in my opinion. Real people, real elements.
