‘Reborn’ pretty much sums up my experience of Egypt. To me it’s been a transformative journey of the soul.
As I wander through its astonishing world, from megawatt megalithic sacred sites to the hypnotic rolling sand dunes of the Sahara desert, the Nile’s magical banks and the bewitching souks bathed in thick moody frankincense smoke… every sight, feeling and scent touches and transforms me in a profound way.
Capturing the magic, grandeur and mystery of Egypt is no easy task. That’s what awes me the most about The Legend Old Cataract Aswan. This historic 19th-century Victorian palace, reborn into neo-aristocratic chic style by French interior decorator Sybille de Margerie, all at once celebrates the past, embraces modernity and stunningly conveys Egypt’s uniquely timeless allure.
Wearing vintage chocolate brown gown with plunging neckline (similar here), custom three-row topaz link cuffs (similar here in moonstone), hair styled with Aveda Be Curly curl enhancer and Aveda Phomollient styling foam.
