Photography by NdoemaI discovered a slew of fabulously talented young designers this season during New York Fashion Week and I have to say stumbling upon Hernan Lander‘s sexy and edgy Fall 2013 collection made my day.
I absolutely adore his avant-garde aesthetic and melding of contemporary cross-cultural influences. Kind of a latin twist (the design wiz hails from the Dominican Republic) on the trademark Japanese deconstructive style but loaded with sex appeal.
The entire collection was stellar, with impeccable tailoring and a bold, playful take on print and classic embellishments. I couldn’t take my eyes off his hyper-feminine, body-hugging cutout dresses in all their heavenly variations (from the silk sheer panel dresses to the embellished leather numbers). I want!
