“A dream is the bearer of a new possibility,
the enlarged horizon, the great hope.”Howard Thurman
After adrenaline-inducing roller coaster sand-dune riding and getting (temporarily) stranded in the middle of the Libyan desert, I continued on my exhilarating off-road safari adventure.
The highlight of this Sahara desert excursion was the beautiful freshwater lake at Bir Wahed, a striking natural landmark on the edge of The Great Sand Sea.
I loved soaking in the healing sulfur natural springs, and watching the sun setting over the dunes was truly a surreal experience.

If not for the heat, I could totally live there. Yes! In the middle of the desert – peace and quiet 🙂
You’re truly a jetsetter Ndoema! Which country are you going next?
Those are the most amazing sand dunes!
Was the water cold? I picnic would have been nice there!
That looks like the best place to rest after a day of trekking.
The cover photo is stunning!
Amazing sunset to recap the day’s adventure.
