Making the world a better place has never looked so Glam! Norwegian designer Nina Skarra is taking Sustainable Fashion to a whole new level, and I was so ready for that. It’s no secret. I proudly am a Green Girl and I love to support deserving eco-friendly ventures whenever I can but when it comes to fashion… I have to say your typical earth-friendly fare (those baggy hemp shirts and recycled rubber flip flops) isn’t exactly what gets me going in the morning. That’s why I love Nina Skarra. Her red-carpet worthy dresses, exquisitely draped goddess-inspired gowns, sophisticated layering and play on textures are a radical departure from the unfashionable hippie cliché. Though I predict that eco-friendly designer lines will be huge in years to come, eco-clothing is still in its infancy and visionary designer Nina Skarra is definitely showing the way.
Must-haves: Sand and coral strapless mini dress with multi-tiered back train. Powder blue sculptured strapless gown (is it me or is she channeling Grace Kelly?). Cream draped backless gown. White oversized bow knot bustier dress. Antique pink side-slit flapper-inspired cocktail dress.
