Photography by Kamel Lahmadi
During New York Fashion Week, I had the immense pleasure of working with Paris-based photographer Kamel Lahmadi of Style & The City. Kamel and I met for the first time last season outside the Donna Karan show and I was immediately charmed. He has a golden eye and a heart of gold, and I was genuinely thrilled not only to meet him again but to get the chance to work with him on a series of New York City themed fashion stories.
What I love about working with Kamel is that he draws more on your acting chops than modeling skills. He not only captures beautiful photos but he tells a wonderful story. His direction is vivid, detailed, and feeds your imagination in ways that make building a character and establishing a mood effortless.
For this shoot, his final words of direction were: “Step up this staircase like a Queen”. So I regally obliged!
