Heading to the BCBG Max Azria show on day 1 of New York Fashion Week is always a very special moment every season. Not only because it’s become the official Fashion Week kickoff event or because it routinely shoots the season’s lucky opening model to the height of supermodel stardom, but also because it’s a strong, solid show with a steady offering of wearable yet sexy staples.
Now I have a confession to make. Bundling up for the winter months isn’t what I live for. Blame it on my tropical genes (sorry to say but my tween years in the Swiss Alps and college years in Paris have done nothing to rearrange that genetic makeup of mine) but even in the thick of those chilly winter days, I’ve always got an eye out for the light, flowy, summer reminiscing garb.
By now I’m sure you’ve all guessed my absolute favorite pieces this season: the gorgeous hand-beaded sheer blouse, sleeveless flowy max dress, the black and white blouse and floor-length skirt ensemble and those fabulous cutout stiletto boots. That’s what I call California winter wear!
